The Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN’s) first and second Hobart-class Air Warfare Destroyers (AWDs) have completed a series of tests to demonstrate the platform’s Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), a wide-area defence system that allows each ship to perform as part of a wider ‘grid’ of sensors and weapons for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
The Hobart-class destroyers are the first warships outside the US Navy (USN) to be equipped with the CEC.
