The Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus (VS RB) will receive its fifth Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile (SAM) battery and four Yak-130 trainers by the end of 2018, the defence minister has said.
“We have signed contracts which provide funds for the acquisition of the fifth Tor-M2 SAM battery and four Yak-130 aircraft,” Lieutenant General Andrey Ravkov said. “Advance payments have already been made, and we are expecting these weapons to be delivered before the end of the year.”
According to the minister, 12 Su-30SM multirole combat aircraft worth approximately USD600 million ordered from Russia in 2017 will be supplied in 2019-20, with the delivery of the first four scheduled for 2019.
