Russia plans to complete S-400 delivery to Turkey by 2020 — presidential aide

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russia will exert every effort for completing the delivery of air defense systems S-400 to Turkey by 2020, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told the media on Monday.
"Turkey did raise this issue. As far as I know, steps will be taken to meet Turkey’s wish," Ushakov said, when asked if Russia was going to satisfy Turkey’s request for speeding up the delivery of S-400 to be through with them by 2020.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet in Ankara on April 3 to discuss military-technical cooperation, including the supplies of S-400 air defense systems to Turkey, he went on.
"Naturally, great attention will be paid to international problems and military-technical cooperation. The themes are known - supplies of Russian air defense systems S-400 Triumf and some other aspects of military-technical cooperation," Ushakov said.
The presidents plan to discuss Syria, energy cooperation and import of Turkish tomatoes in Ankara on April 3. "Certainly, an important issue besides energy is trade in agriculture sector," Ushakov said.
Last year, Russia lifted restrictions on import of Turkish agricultural products. Turkey’s export grew 1.6-fold reaching $1bln, he said.
Ushakov noted that now restrictions remain in force on the number of suppliers of Turkish tomatoes, which now stands at 12.
At the meeting, Putin and Erdogan plan to discuss other issues of bilateral cooperation, he said.
"During these talks, the presidents are expected to discuss key issues of bilateral agenda and certainly, also will discuss regional and international issues, including Syria," Ushakov said.
After the meeting a range of bilateral documents are expected to be signed, and five of them have been agreed. These documents are a memorandum on cooperation in communications and information technologies, a memorandum on cooperation in social policy on the rights of women and children, a memorandum on cooperation in sports and two agreements in the framework of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
