Turkish company Aselsan has revealed that it is developing a counter-rocket artillery and mortar (C-RAM) system.
Mustafa Kaval, the head of defence system technology for the company, told Jane’s at the 16-19 April Defence Services Asia 2018 (DSA 2018) exhibition in Kuala Lumpur that the C-RAM system will be based on Aselsan’s Korkut self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system, which has already been inducted into service with the Turkish Armed Forces.
“Currently, we are not under a contractual obligation from the government for this [C-RAM] system, but we have initiated development, although it is still in the concept stage,” said Kaval.
