In mid-2018 the US Army is expected to approve a Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Mission Planning requirement to provide new tools to defend army networks, systems, and data.
The DCO Mission Planning requirement provides capabilities for DCO mission command and planning at all levels, an army spokesperson told Jane’s .
“Mission planning integrates cyber security requirements, intel, and vulnerability analyses, with the outputs of mission analysis, other military decision-making process outputs, and DCO planning steps in order to identify critical assets; determine probable attack vectors; and produce a set of relevant internal defence measures, triggers, and decision points,” the spokesperson explained.
