Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is integrating its ADA GPS anti-jamming system into Honeywell’s embedded GPS/inertial navigation system (EGI), under the terms of a new teaming agreement signed between the two companies that was announced on 29 May.
The airborne GPS anti-jamming navigation system will be available as either a subsystem or an embedded system, offering a countermeasure capability for the satellite-based navigation system.
The companies say that remaining exposed to even low-power jammers can disrupt or deny the operation of a GPS system, in turn degrading the ability to fulfill a mission.
“This collaboration brings together the operational experience as well as the manufacturing and technology excellence of two leading companies,” Joseph Weiss, president and CEO of IAI, said.
