US develops sophisticated mobile system to combat UAVs

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:15 P.M.) – The American company Sierra Nevada has developed a compact installation to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which can be placed on pick-up trucks and work effectively while driving, Defense News reported .
A new system called “X-Madis” can detect, recognize and hit targets using EW assets directly while driving at speeds up to 80 kilometers per hour.
At the same time, only one operator is sufficient to service the system, which can manage it from the cab of the vehicle.
As described in the company, “X-Madis” can be installed on various moving platforms, such as a heavy pick-up truck, ultralight SUV or a boat.
In addition, the system has already been tested on some types of military vehicles, which are in the arsenal of the US Army.
A new development was presented at SOFIC 2018, which is taking place these days in Tampa, Florida.
