Freewave Technologies has unveiled its Zumlink 900 MHz ISM-band radio, designed for use in low-bandwidth environments, during the Xponential 2018 conference in Denver, Colorado.
The Zumlink is available in different bandwidths and has a fully enclosed module with a radio on an interface card with two serial ports, an Ethernet connection, and is ruggedised and enclosed.
The company also offers the radio on a separate board that can be embedded. Scott Allen, Freewave Technologies chief marketing officer, told Jane's , “we have released the Zumlink radio platform with an added application server. It is similar to a Raspberry Pi [software defined radio] but industrial grade which allows the user to develop, deploy, and manage their own part applications in the field.”
