The ship will carry fuel, ammunition, and other supplies and will have room on its upper deck for containers. It will have two replenishment at-sea rigs, a helicopter deck and hangar, and will carry two fast raiding, interception, and special forces craft (FRISC) and two rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RHIBs), with various self-defence weapons.
The CSS will be built by Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding and is scheduled to be delivered in 2023.
