The UAV was powered by a PD170 turbo-diesel engine developed by Tusas Engine Industries and General Electric. Its automatic take-off and landing capability was successfully tested during the 4-hour-20-minute flight, Turkish Aerospace reported.

The Aksungur is planned to have a 750 kg payload capacity and a 24-hour endurance and to fly at an altitude of up to 40,000 feet.

Development was funded entirely by Turkish Aerospace.
