Saint Petersburg-based Radar MMS has developed the BPV-45 Briz (Breeze) tactical vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which was unveiled at the MAKS 2019 aerospace and defence exhibition being held in Zhukovsky, near Moscow, from 27 August to 1 September.

A company representative told Jane’s that the BPV-45 is designed for aerial monitoring, search-and-rescue (SAR), and patrol operations. It is powered by a combustion engine and can achieve a speed of up to 75 km/h.
The control radius is quoted at up to 80 km, with data transmission range of up to 35 km.
“The Briz is the only Russian-designed tactical VTOL UAV that can carry [a synthetic] aperture radar,” he added.
